Irene Graziani holds several degrees and has had a long career in academia. She graduated with a degree in Classical Literature in 1991 and specialized in History of Art and Minor Arts in 1996. In 2002, she earned her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Bologna.

Her academic career includes serving as a contract professor at the University of Bologna, teaching courses on Modern Art History and Art History in Emilia Romagna in the modern era.

From 2010 to 2021, she was a tenured researcher at the University of Bologna in the field of Modern Art History. Since September 2021, she has been an Associate Professor at the same university. Her teaching duties include courses such as Renaissance Art, Modern Art History, and European Art History. She also teaches at the School of Specialization in Historical-Artistic Heritage and the GEMMA Master’s program.

Her primary research focuses on 18th-century Bolognese painting and the topic of women artists. Since 2007, she has also been a collaborator at the “Documentation Center on the History of Women Artists” in Bologna.
